Nulia Works / Product experience redesign
Connecting software skills to everyday practice.
We helped Nulia redesign key product experiences for developing workplace software skills, connecting progress, practice and manager guidance.

01 / The challenge
A score needs a next step.
Nuliaâs product helps organizations develop use of workplace software. A score or performance summary is only useful if a person understands what it means and what to do next.
More about the challenge
The challenge was to connect progress information with achievable activities, while giving managers a useful view of the people they support.

02 / A product decision
Oversight with insight
The new Manager Insight Panel gives leaders the ability to efficiently monitor and guide team members' progress. The Assignment Menu lets leaders guide and monitor team member performance by setting new goals aligned with an employeeâs roles and projects.
03 / Inside the work
Connect progress to something people can do.
We identified friction in the existing journey and restructured key pages. The Pathways experience became a clearer place to track progress, while Skills Detail connected goals and achievements.
The work treated individual learning and manager oversight as related but different tasks. Both needed useful information and a clear next action.

04 / A product decision
Bite-sized goals, big gains
We identified actionable components within each proficiency area to help users better understand their Nulia skill scores. The Skills page shows a userâs progress through individual competencies to support mastery of self-assigned goals and manager-assigned proficiency outcomes.

05 / A product decision
Skill drills
Showing performance metrics provides users with valuable information, but only if they know how to act on it. Practice activities linked to each skill offer guidance through narrative, video, and audio formats to support different learning styles.
06 / A product decision
The ânudgeâ factor
Good managers need ways to help keep team members on-track and motivated as they pursue their productivity goals. Customized âhintsâ allow managers to deliver personalized tips to help team members overcome roadblocks and achieve assigned outcomes.

07 / Our contribution
Individual practice.
Manager support.
Nulia brought the skill-development platform. We redesigned how people understand a skill, choose an activity and see progress, alongside the managerâs tools for assigning goals and offering guidance.
The contribution connected UX strategy with interface design across these two perspectives. Skills, Pathways and manager views express the same learning model while supporting different decisions.
Under the surface: how this project was built
Interface implementation
TypeScript and REST API integration formed part of the interface work described in the project.

Design work considered keyboard focus order and accessibility requirements across the experience.

Microsoft Azure, automated builds and Sentry formed part of the projectâs delivery tooling.
08 / Product work
Connect practice with progress.
