Emano Metrics / Emano Flow / Patient & provider platform
Connecting home measurements to the care team.
We helped Emano Metrics design and build connected patient and provider experiences around its sound-based home uroflowmetry technology.
Explore the story â
01 / The challenge
Connect a home measurement to a providerâs view.
Emano Metrics had developed software to capture uroflowmetry information from sound. The product opportunity was to let patients gather information outside a dedicated office visit and make it useful to providers.
More about the challenge
The client brought the underlying sensing technology. The surrounding experience needed to connect a patientâs home interaction to a providerâs view of information over time.

02 / Product work
Connect the home reading to the care team.
Patient and provider experiences bring home measurements into a wider view of the record.

03 / Inside the work
Design both sides of the care journey.
Discovery examined the existing patient and provider experience and its points of friction. We mapped a new journey spanning a mobile patient experience and a web application for providers.
The design also considered the records staff who move information between systems. A useful product had to fit the work around the measurement, not just capture it.

04 / A product decision
Trends on tap
The provider-facing web application displays home uroflowmetry information over time. Its views help providers review patterns and outliers within the available record.
Bring the record into the next conversation.
The product supports exporting information for use in medical-record workflows. Full EHR integration remained a future roadmap item.
05 / Our contribution
The measurement technology.
The experience around it.
Emano brought the sound-based sensing technology. Twenty Ideas mapped and built the patient mobile experience and provider-facing web application, connecting the measurement engine to views of information over time.
Records staff were part of the design as well: the product supports exports into medical-record workflows. Full EHR integration was a future roadmap item, distinct from the work delivered here.
Under the surface: how this project was built
Patient application
React Native, Expo and EAS supported the mobile experience, including microphone permissions for home measurement.
Connected measurement engine
A TypeScript and Nest.js API connected the applications with the clientâs machine-learning engine.
Provider review
A React web application presented measurement information and charts for review and export.
