ChartLamp / Interactive prototype
A prototype for exploring medical claims.
We helped ChartLamp turn medical-claims expertise into a branded, high-fidelity prototype showing how records, timelines and communication could work together.
Explore the story â01 / The challenge
Make a complex claims process visible.
Medical claims review involves gathering records, interpreting terminology and keeping communication between adjusters, providers and claimants organized. ChartLampâs founders saw an opportunity to make that work easier to navigate.
More about the challenge
They needed a concrete product concept that could demonstrate the proposed workflow to potential users and investors. The deliverable was a prototype, with the research and design decisions needed to make it credible.

Charting the user experience
We identified claims adjusters as the primary user group and mapped how they moved through medical records. The proposed journey brought record categorization, interpretation and discussion into one experience.
03 / Inside the work
Give the concept a concrete shape.
We combined stakeholder interviews and market research with the foundersâ subject-matter expertise. Personas and journey maps identified the points where categorizing, understanding and discussing records became difficult.
We evaluated potential features by complexity and impact. That helped focus the prototype on a coherent user journey rather than trying to show every possible capability.

Learning from the past
The research exposed many possible improvements. We worked with the founders to compare their likely usefulness and implementation complexity, then prioritized a focused proof of concept.

05 / A product decision
Combining our expertise
The proposed prototype centered on anatomical mapping, a medical-history timeline, tagging and sharing, and an estimate calculator. The prototype gave the founders a concrete way to demonstrate the concept.

Designed to shine
We developed a cohesive brand and visual system informed by competitive analysis and user personas. The work built on the foundersâ logo concept to give the prototype a consistent identity.

07 / A product decision
Modeling success for future users (& investors)
High-fidelity user flows became an interactive prototype and a demo sequence. The sequence lets the founders walk a viewer through how the proposed product could connect a fragmented claims-review task.

08 / Our contribution
A product to evaluate.
Before committing to the build.
ChartLampâs founders brought knowledge of medical claims review. We combined that expertise with research into adjustersâ work, then shaped the proposed feature set, brand and interaction design.
The delivery was a high-fidelity interactive prototype: anatomical mapping, medical-history timelines, tagging, sharing and an estimate calculator made the concept concrete for user and investor conversations. This case shows design work, not a launched claims-processing system.
09 / Prototype
Make the next conversation concrete.
An interactive prototype gives the founders a tangible way to show how the product could work.
